Quarterly CES, Inc. Employee Updates


BREWER – CES, Inc., a Maine-headquartered firm of engineers, environmental scientists, and land surveyors, and Best Places to Work in Maine continues to grow with the announcement of three new employees and two promotions within our Brewer and Machias offices.


New hires


Dan Livingstone, PLS 

Professional Land Surveyor Dan Livingstone joins CES’ Machias office as Senior Project Manager. He brings over 20 years of survey experience and will help increase the overall capacity of our survey division by providing another experienced survey resource on projects company-wide. In addition to being licensed in Maine, Livingstone is also licensed in Vermont and is a Navy veteran.


Dee Lizotte

Joining our Brewer Corporate Finance Department, Dee Lizotte joined CES as an Accounting/Payroll Specialist. She comes to CES with many of years of experience in all aspects of processing payroll and bookkeeping including A/E and construction firm experience. She is a valuable asset as the company continues to grow.


Jon Whitten, Jr., PE

Jon Whitten, Jr., PE joins CES’ Engineering Division with over 23 years of experience in the civil engineering design and consulting profession. He is a graduate of the University of Maine with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and licensed in the State of Maine. He brings experience primarily related to site development and permitting for private and residential clients in Southern Maine and more recently, the Greater Bangor region.  Whitten’s role at CES is Project Manager with the goal of growing our site development footprint in all parts of Maine.




Christopher “Toby” Michaud, PE

Mechanical and Civil Engineer, Michaud has been promoted to Senior Project Engineer. He has been with CES since 2004 and has worked on many civil and mechanical engineering projects as Project Engineer. He is a graduate of the University of Maine with a degree in Mechanical Engineering after a former career in Law Enforcement. CES’ clients have benefited from Michaud’s ability to work with his clients, stakeholders and colleagues to deliver a quality and timely design.


Nate Gustafson, PE

Also promoted to Senior Project Engineer, Gustafson is well-known for his abilities to take a thoughtful approach and implementation of designs. He is a graduate of the University of Maine with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and has been with CES since 2004, starting as a field representative on projects CES designed and moving onto both civil and mechanical design responsibilities for many water, wastewater, and utility projects throughout the state of Maine.
