CES, Inc. Announces New Hires

BREWER – CES, Inc., a Maine-headquartered firm of engineers, environmental scientists, and land surveyors, is pleased to announce recent hires in our Brewer and Lewiston, Maine locations. These new positions bring the total number of employees to 106.




Victor Smith, PE joined CES as a Project Engineer. Victor brings valuable insight into traffic planning and engineering. His previous experience includes working for the Maine Department of Transportation and as a Construction Inspector. He worked with CES on numerous traffic planning projects the last few years. With his experience he now joins CES as Project Engineer and is a University of Maine graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.


Jared Merry, PE joined CES as Senior Project Engineer within the Building Services unit as a Mechanical Engineer. Merry also has a strong background in Electrical Engineering and will be working directly with mechanical and electrical engineering staff in meeting project designs/goals for clients. He is another University of Maine graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and in addition to his PE license, he holds a Merchant Marine’s license.


After an internship at CES that began in the summer of 2018, University of Maine graduate, Lucy Feeney joined the company full-time after her graduation earlier this year. As a Civil Engineer, she is assisting the Engineering Division but will also be assisting the environmental division.


Jeremy Beaulieu joined CES as a Mechanical Engineer this summer after recently graduating from Maine Maritime Academy with a BS in Power Systems Engineering.  While at MMA, he studied Mechanical Engineering while also gaining hands on experience. He worked for a local Architect as a designer and has developed CAD skills and understands the process workflow with construction projects. Beaulieu works with other mechanical and electrical staff engineering, assisting with design and drafting needs.


Matt Macey joins CES as a Project Engineer and will work on a variety of Civil and Structural engineering projects. Prior to CES, he worked on Structural design related to high voltage transmission lines. This knowledge base will help support the services CES is proud to provide for the energy market. Macey graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a BS degree in Civil Engineering.


Russell “Rusty” Baillargeon joined CES as Senior Designer in the Engineering Division. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to CES, particularly in the Industrial Engineering market where his work has mainly been in support of the Pulp & Paper services. He also has a strong background in ship design and production.  Baillargeon is a graduate of Central Maine Technical College, the University of Maine, Eastern Maine Technical College, and Maine Maritime Academy.


Nathan Norris joins CES as an Environmental Technician. He has B.S. in Environmental Science and Sustainability from the University of Maine Presque Isle and recently received his master’s degree in Geology from the University of Cincinnati. Primarily assisting with environmental compliance for clients across Maine, Norris will also evaluate the results with the project team.



Keith Davis joins CES as an Environmental Field Technician. Previously, he worked with various environmental laboratories and worked to develop new testing methods to ensure product quality. Davis is a graduate of the University of Maine Presque Isle with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies with a Geology Concentration. He is working with the Lewiston staff in groundwater and soil vapor sampling, watershed monitoring, and Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments throughout Maine and New Hampshire.
