BREWER, Maine – CES, Inc., a Maine-based firm of engineers, environmental scientists and land surveyors is proud to announce the recent acquisition of Bean, Whitaker, Lutz, and Kareh, Inc., a well-respected consulting firm specializing in surveying, civil engineering and planning for over 30 years in Fort Myers, Florida.
“We are thrilled to welcome all employees of BWLK and its clients to CES. Well-known for its professional capabilities on land use and development projects in Southwest Florida, BWLK maintains a high level of customer service that built solid long-lasting client relationships that will continue under CES,” said CES President and CEO Denis St. Peter, P.E. “Furthermore, we are pleased that Ahmad Kareh, P.E., M.S.C.E., an owner of BWLK, is joining CES as a shareholder, Vice President and Regional Manager. He leads BWLK’s civil engineering unit and will be a vital link between our Brewer headquarters and the Fort Myers location as the Regional Manager. BWLK President Scott Whitaker, P.S.M, will also join the CES team as a Senior Project Manager, continuing his work of managing surveying projects and also assisting with the transition. Continuity is a key component of a successful acquisition, so having both of these leaders join our team, is great news.”
To maintain a sense of familiarity during the transition of BWLK to CES, the firm will be known as BWLK, a division of CES, Inc. to BWLK’s current clients.
“On behalf of everyone at BWLK, we are delighted to join the CES team. The more we learned about CES’ approach to its employees and clients, including its Best Places to Work recognition and past project awards, the more we grew excited about our partnership. By joining our professionals with theirs, we will offer new opportunities to our employees and continue our dedication to our clients and provide them the same high-quality services they enjoy,” said Whitaker.
“I am honored to join CES as a Shareholder and to help be the link between Maine and Florida,” said Kareh. “CES’ depth of engineering and environmental experts means that we will be able to collaborate with shared expertise to provide our clients with additional capabilities to reach their project’s goals.”
With the acquisition, BWLK accomplished their goal of conducting an ownership transition that leads to the continued success of the Fort Myers office, and looks out for the best interests of their employees.
2018 is a milestone year for CES as it celebrates its 40th anniversary and acquires its first company located outside the State of Maine. “CES is already engaged with multiple clients on a national level and a successful business model for us includes expanding our brick and mortar presence beyond the state’s borders. Travis Noyes, P.E., as our Engineering Division Director and Josh Bragg, P.L.S., as a Surveying Manager will play pivotal roles in integrating the new engineering and surveying professionals into our company.” said St. Peter.
CES also changed its web and email domains to reflect this out-of-state growth to www.cesincusa.com from ces-maine.com. Visitors to the old website and emails sent to the old emails will be automatically directed to the new addresses for the foreseeable future.
