Environmental Project Professional (Brewer office)

CES is looking for a proactive, self-motivated Environmental Project Professional to support Environmental projects.  Full-time position, with ample opportunity for growth and advancement.  The function of the Environmental Project Professional is to assist clients with environmental compliance. Environmental compliance related activities are typically associated with Wastewater Discharge Licenses, Multi-Sector General Permits, Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System Permits, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans, Watershed Management Plans, as well as other requirements associated with regulatory programs.


Duties include:

  • Conducting field work including wastewater compliance sampling, industrial stormwater outfall sampling, municipal illicit discharge sampling and investigations, and impaired stream sampling
  • Conducting watershed assessments and watershed planning efforts
  • Performing post-construction stormwater inspections and reports
  • Completing industrial stormwater inspections and preparing summaries of findings
  • Performing site investigations to assess and document field conditions
  • Preparing written environmental plans
  • Assisting clients in applying for environmental licenses


Work is performed in both office and field settings.  Outdoor work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.  Work hours can be flexible but are subject to change based upon project schedules.  Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting and field environment in the performance of daily duties; to operate assigned equipment and vehicles; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.


BS in Civil Engineering, BS in Environmental Sciences, or equivalent work experience.  Minimum of five years of experience.  40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training preferred, though not required.  Valid driver’s license.


Knowledgeable in Multi-sector General Permit, Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System Permits, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans, and Waste Discharge Licenses preferred.  Computer skills: Strong Microsoft Office skills including MS Word, Outlook, and advanced functions of Excel.  Strong technical report writing skills required.
